Bringing our 60th Season to a Close and Updates to the Upcoming Season

May 3, 2020

Dear Evergreen Playhouse Family:

As the days turned to weeks and we all did our best to stay at home as much as possible, the transmission of COVID-19 is down in our state. However, with Governor Inslee’s extended Stay at Home order, we are now struggling with the realization that our 60th season, while monumental for us, will also be very memorable as we close the season early.

We have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation every day, and met as a board virtually tonight. Today with great sadness we, the Board of the Evergreen Playhouse, have decided it is time to go dark for balance of the season.

After looking at our 61st Season we have decided to make some modifications.  We will celebrate our re-opening of the Evergreen Playhouse with Mamma Mia!.  We feel a need to give our audiences a bright light to kick off the season. This coming season will be full of musicals to accommodate Next to Normal - we will bring it back in the spring, followed by Little Shop of Horrors and closing our season with Cinderella.  That means there will only be one play and we are choosing to keep it light-hearted with Charley’s Aunt (Elf will still be our holiday show).  We can revisit The Laramie Project and Dracula for the 62nd Season. We will be sending out emails to our ticket holders soon with the ticket information for this season and next. We ask that, if possible, you consider donating your remaining season ticket or purchased ticket(s) back to the Evergreen Playhouse.

We have announced our upcoming season and we continue behind the scenes work as normal, so if you would like to purchase your season tickets at this season’s same great rates, the page is public! You can purchase your season tickets, buy a seat for our seating campaign, or just make a donation to help our theater out. If you buy a seat at this time, you will receive a season ticket for our 61st season.

As we continue to monitor COVID-19, we will keep you updated. We thank you for understanding how difficult this decision is for us and for continuing to support the actors, casts, and crews of the Evergreen Playhouse.

Enjoy Next to Normal’s finale of “Light.”

“And when the night has finally gone, and when we see the new day dawn
We'll wonder how we wandered for so long, so blind.
The wasted world we thought we knew, the light will make it look brand new
So Let it Shine.”

Stay safe, stay home, and if we can be of help to you, please contact us through our email at theevergreenplayhouse@gmail.com or on our Facebook page.

We’ll leave the ghost light on - -
