Regarding Our Season 61 (2020-2021)

As we begin to look at the future of theatre in our community, we have to look at all of the unknowns of COVID-19 and how that affects the Playhouse.  Hearing about schools not reopening for students, performance opportunities being cut, Phases being locked in place with the potential for pushing back a Phase if we cannot get this virus under control...all of this has caused our Board to make the tough decision to cancel our advertised 61st Season.

We, as a Board, are incredibly sad to have to make this decision, but we know in our hearts it is the right thing and the responsible thing to do. Rather than cancel two shows at a time and hope for the best, we have decided to simply cancel the whole season and revisit our reopening in January. At that point in time we can look at what shows we might be able produce under the current conditions.

But don't worry, while the theatre will be dark during this time, the EP will continue to keep you up to date about carpet installation, chair installation, and an opportunity to let us know your thoughts and ideas of theatre that you would like to see in the meantime. We will begin looking at some online live productions, maybe an audience-participation murder mystery, virtually of course, and we will begin looking for some livestream opportunities to share with our season ticket subscribers.

With the season being cancelled, we will be reaching out to our current season ticket holders to offer refunds or donation opportunities. While these times are tough, we are going to be okay and we will continue to share updates with you through email, our website, Facebook, and Instagram. We are committed to making the safest decisions for our actors, cast and crew, patrons and our Board to protect all of us during these difficult times. If you need to reach us, the best way is through email at theevergreenplayhouse@gmail.com or through our Facebook page.

Rest assured, theater is not dead. We'll be back! We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you in person soon. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay home as often as possible to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

We'll keep the ghostlight on!
