Planning for the Future at the Evergreen Playhouse

In response to Governor Inslee's order to Stay at Home until May 4th, we wanted to let you know what the EP's plan are for the next few weeks.

The cast of Next to Normal continues to rehearse at home during this time, waiting to share this beautiful production with all of you. We are still planning for the performances in May.

Rehearsals begin on April 20th for Mamma Mia! We will be doing a read through online on April 20th and then begin teaching music online through a variety of platforms. Our choreographer is going to begin to share videos with the cast so they can learn the choreography ahead of time. These are unusual and difficult times for theater companies and we are having to learn new ways to make the show go on. As unusual as online rehearsals can be, it is exciting to learn new ways to navigate the performing arts from far away.

The Evergreen Playhouse is committed to bringing the arts to our community as soon as we are safe from this virus, but we need help being able to fulfill our obligations (utilities, new chairs, new carpeting). Any donation helps, especially at this time when we do not have any funds coming into our building.

CHAIRS: Our seating campaign is still on - we hope you will dig deep and buy a chair (it comes with a season ticket remember?)

TICKETS: If a chair is out of your price range, maybe you would consider buying a season ticket now before the price goes up on July 1st.

DONATIONS: A monthly donation would help us out, especially during this time. CONSIDER $10 for 10 (that's $100 for a year). Believe it or not if 70 of our members chose this option it would help cover the costs of keeping the lights and heat on at the EP throughout the year. Even though the EP is run solely on volunteer power, our utilities and bills still are about $1,100 a month, so every little bit helps during these times.

We are continuing to share online events for our viewers and hope to be sharing a past performance from the EP very soon. Thank you for sticking with us and helping to support us during this time. We hope you are doing well, staying home, staying safe and taking a chance to read some plays, watch some performances from other theaters, and most importantly - if you need our help in any way, please reach out to us. We check our email and Facebook messages throughout the day.

Thanks always - and we'll see you onstage soon!
