Evergreen Playhouse's Response to COVID-19 in Preparation for Opening Weekend

As COVID-19 becomes a larger concern for Washington State, Lewis County has no reported cases at this time (as of 3/12/20). I want to reassure you, our patrons, that we have already implemented the precautionary measures stated by the Health Department and Governor Inslee. The health of our actors, patrons, and volunteers is always of utmost importance.

Next to Normal will open on Friday, March 13th, and we will do our best to run for three weekends, however, we are following the guidelines from the CDC and the Lewis County Health Department as we all stay informed about the current situation and we encourage everyone to also follow these guidelines. We are so proud of this show, the work the actors and crew have put into it, and the important story that is being told about mental illness. I would like to encourage patrons who have tickets the third weekend to check your calendars and see if you can join us this weekend instead, due to the uncertainty of this virus and the impact it potentially could have as the weeks go on.

While we do understand that some patrons are concerned about attending the show, we assure you that the EP will have undergone a deep clean before the show Friday night, and each day before the show. All counters, handles, handrails, faucets, arms of seats and other areas that are touched by hands will be wiped down with antibacterial wipes. We will have hand sanitizer around the building and our concessions staff will all be wearing gloves to ensure an extra clean hand when serving your treats and drinks to you. We also will have a designated money handler (also gloved) for yours and their safety.

We encourage anyone who is feeling under the weather or at-risk to stay home. All actors, crew, and volunteers are taking all the precautionary measures to stay their healthiest. We are thankful for a smaller theatrical venue, seating 140, as this means we fall into the guidelines set out by the Governor (under 250 for a gathering). For those who want to attend but would like a little more room between other patrons, we will do our best to accommodate you with the best seats available.

While we will still have a meet and greet with the cast afterward, we will ask for a hands and hug free approach to thanking them for their performance.

If you decide that you do not want to attend a performance of Next to Normal due to your health concerns, please contact the box office through email and we will be happy to convert your tickets into a voucher that you may use at any of the remaining productions during out 2019/2020 Season.

As we learn more, we will continue to keep you informed. If you have any questions, the quickest way to contact us is by emailing us or contacting us through Facebook messenger.

Thank you for your support -
