General Auditions for the entire 2019-2020 Season will be held August 6-8 from 6:00-9:00pm. For a list of our shows and their performance dates, go here. Below are directions on how to sign up for a specific time slot and what requirements are for your audition.

Register

Please go here to register for a specific time slot. This will be your time. Drop-ins will be welcome, but only when there is space/time; the easiest way to secure your spot is to register beforehand. Registration will close on Monday, August 5th.  If you need to change or cancel your time please let us know as soon as possible. Minors (16 and under) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Audition Length

Audition time slots are 10 minutes – this will give you enough time to perform your monologues and/or musical piece as well as any changes the directors may want to see.

Checking In

Please plan to arrive early to give yourself adequate preparation time. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early so you can check in and prepare for your audition.  The directors may also call you early if you are ready and they are ahead of schedule. Please enter the Evergreen Playhouse at the side door (signs will be posted).

You can also take that time to fill out the necessary paperwork and glance over the schedules and time commitments outlined for each show.

Memorized Monologues

Please come with two (2) contrasting monologues memorized. If you do not have a memorized monologue, cold reading monologues will be made available.

Musical Selections

If you are auditioning for a musical, please come with at least 16 bars of music and bring your own accompaniment. (A piano is available, but not a pianist.  Speakers will be provided if you’d like to play your music from your phone as a saved file or from YouTube).

What to Bring

Please bring a current theater resume with a headshot/photo. If you do not have a photo, one will be taken before your auditions. Audition forms filled out will expedite the process.

What if I’ve been in a show at the EP?

If you have been in a full production at the Evergreen Playhouse in any of the 2018-2019 season of shows, you can bypass General Auditions and request a callback. You must still submit an audition form, a resume, and a headshot to our email, and indicate which callback(s) you would like to attend. It will be up to the directors to decide if they want to see you at callbacks, if so, you will receive an email prior with that notification.

What Happens After Generals?

The following Monday-Saturday (August 12-17), we will be holding Callbacks for specific shows. If a director would like to see you read for a part(s), you will be contacted to return. If you do not get a callback, this does not mean that you will not be offered a role! Callback emails will be sent each night and throughout the week - be sure to check your spam and junk mail folders.

Callback Schedule (August 12-17 at 6:30pm):

8/12 (Monday): NEXT TO NORMAL
8/13 (Tuesday): ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST
8/14 (Wednesday): SCROOGE, THE MUSICAL
8/15 (Thursday): PLAY ON!
8/16 (Friday): DON’T DRESS FOR DINNER
8/17 (Saturday): MAMMA MIA!

If a director (or directors!) would like to offer you a part in their show, you will be contacted by Monday, August 19.
