August 2: 11am- 1pm & 2pm-4pm
August 3 & 4: 6:30pm- 9pm

General Auditions for the entire 2026-2027 Season will be held August 2-4 (Sunday-Tuesday). Sunday will have time slots from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Monday and Tuesday will have spots at 6:30-9:00pm. For a list of our shows and their performance dates, go here. Below are directions on how to sign up for an audition time and what requirements are for your audition.

Register

Please fill out the Audition Form first and let us know what shows you’re interested in! After that, you will be given a link to choose which day you will be auditioning and select a time slot. Please note: In order to be called back for shows, you must audition.

Drop-ins will be welcome if there's available time, but registering beforehand is the easiest way to guarantee your audition slot. Registration closes on July 31st. If you need to change or cancel your time, please let us know as soon as possible. Minors (16 and under) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Auditions:

Audition time slots are 5 minutes each, allowing you enough time to perform your monologues and/or musical piece, as well as any changes the directors may request.

For Plays:

  • Prepare one 1-3 minute monologue from a passage of text from a book, a play, a movie, a TV show or any piece of media where the character is speaking to a direct listener.

For Musicals:

  • Please prepare a 16-32 measure cut of your music, with backing tracks cued up and ready to go. There will be a Bluetooth speaker available.

For Both:

  • Please prepare a 16-32 measure cut of your music, with backing tracks cued up and ready to go, as well as a monologue that is no longer than 1 minute. Your monologue can be from a book, a play, a movie, a TV show, or any piece of media where the character is speaking to a direct listener.

Please note that auditions are limited to five minutes. If we stop you at the five minute mark, it is simply to keep us on schedule and should not be interpreted as a reflection of your audition or performance.

There will be no video submissions for Season 67.

Checking In

Arrive early to give yourself adequate preparation time. We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to check in and prepare. Directors may also call you early if you're ready and they're ahead of schedule. Please enter the Evergreen Playhouse through the side door (signs will be posted). Keep an eye on our website for a list of shows and cast requirements in July. You'll also receive an email reminder a few days before your audition.

What to Bring

Please bring a current theater resume with a headshot/photo. A photo will also be taken at the theater once you arrive. We will have audition forms available in the lobby to fill out.

What Happens After Generals?

We will be holding Callbacks for specific shows (dates will be announced prior to August 1st). If a director would like to see you read for a part(s), you will be contacted to return. You MUST have auditioned at General Auditions in order to receive a callback. If you do not get a callback, this does not mean that you will not be offered a role! Callback emails will be sent each night and throughout the week - be sure to check your spam and junk mail folders.

Callback dates:

  • Prescription: Murder - Thursday, August 6th

  • A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol - Friday, August 7th

  • Bus Stop - Saturday, August 8th

  • Freaky Friday - Monday, August 10th

  • Calendar Girls - Tuesday, August 11th

  • Willy Wonka - Wednesday, August 12th

We are so excited that you are auditioning for our season. We cannot wait to meet you and see what magic you bring to our little theatre!
